Wonderful experience with my two sisters visiting from California. Stayed in "The Treehouse". Had a fun time. Animals are beautiful and so well cared for. Much better then putting them in a Zoo. Here they can live their lives out in dignity, being properly fed and sheltered by a wonderful staff and interns who love them.
From arrival to departure we enjoyed every minute of our time at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. It's worth every penny especially knowing the revenue goes to support the Turpentine Creek mission of rescuing these animals they provide forever homes for. Not only was the scenery beautiful and relaxing, it was very educational for the kids. I took my daughter and her best friend for a birthday getaway weekend. They are 12 years old. I wanted to do something more unique for them, drove from Dallas, TX for the experience, and this was definitely unique and educational. The staff was helpful and informative. The education regarding Turpentine Creek's specialty of rescuing large cats is priceless. What Turpentine Creek offers these rescued animals is amazing. Erin specifically took great care of us and set up a fantastic presentation of the Birthday package for our arrival. Worth every penny! Eureka Springs made for some fun times with Ghost Tours, Passion Play, and all of its history that made for some great exploration. It's just minutes away from Turpentine Creek. Three city girls getting away and the only time we used our phones was to take pictures! Thank you to Erin and the entire staff at Turpentine Creek for all you do!! We look forward to the next opportunity to visit. The girls have talked nonstop about the experience!!
How have I been coming to Eureka Springs for years and never made it here??! With my granddaughter in tow I ventured in. I'm so glad I did!!! Many animals, all with stories of their rescue (take the guided tour!! On foot or by bus) There are very few laws against having a wild cub/pup/etc so there are a LOT of opportunities to rescue. So sad... But TC is upbeat and love their animals. They also have an excellent gift shop. All monies from admission, gifts, tours etc go to support these gorgeous animals.
Gorgeous place, rooms are amazing, the only thing I'd really complain in our time here was there were a bunch of Japanese beetles in our room that was quite annoying. The bus tour was very informative. Was so windy the first night, but second night we could hear allot more of the animals caroling, and we enjoyed the Jacuzzi. Even seen some deer off the back deck in the morning. Was an amazing anniversary stay!!!
Good experience for all. Very informative. Lots of different cat's. And if you're lucky and you go at feeding time you can hear the adult male lions Roar.
